Outside of combat different characters can trigger main events for the storyline and even hidden side quests.
Dungeons are filled with treasure and traps to be overcome.
Combat is turn based and battle mechanics are similar to Final Fantasy 10 in the way that you can switch out reserve characters during combat. Many of the characters you meet are extremely different than most other RPG adventures because they are not all human, a lot are humanoid at best. He is opposed throughout the adventure by the dark dragon clan which are trying to revive an insane goddess. The main character Ryu is one of the last surviving members of this race and sets out to find his sister. If you’re an RPG fan, you won’t be dissappointed, I’m sure.Breath of Fire (Japanese: ブレス オブ ファイア 竜の戦士 Hepburn: Buresu obu Faia: Ryū no Senshi, Breath of Fire: The Dragon Warrior) is an RPG series following the story of a race of people with the ability to transform into dragons. If you’ve not tried any of these, do start with the game that began it all. This game features an interesting cast of characters to utilize, and will keep you entertained for a nice while. No further along than across a bridge do you find trouble brewing in the world, signs of the Dark Dragon clan searching for the Goddess Keys to awaken Tyr (Meant to be Myria, myriad of translation issues also make the BoF series famous.) After everyone turns back to normal, there is a small scene of talking, and off you go, half-cocked and with a cool dragon-clan symbol ‘pon your brow. Everyone in the village is turned to stone by a girl named Sara, in the hopes that no one else will be hurt in the fire spreading throughout the village. You, the hero, leave your village after it is attacked by a group of Dark Dragon clan members.
But… the special thing is, every clan name gives you a rough idea of physical or spiritual appearance/ability. These are not actually DRAGONS, but people of the same clan. The day begins with a bit of back story about the world you’re in, about two clashing families, or clans… the Light and Dark Dragon clans. Without this one, folks, a nicely done series would not exist, for this started it all. Breath of Fire, first of that name, I hail thee.
